FAQs

Why Aluminium?

Aluminium is lighter than steel and has a higher resistance to corrosion, meaning not only will the trailer last longer when exposed to the elements and salt water from the ocean, but it will look better.

Galvanising does not stop rust, it simply places a sacrificial layer of zinc over the steel which rusts first. Once this layer of zinc has gone, there is nothing protecting the steel underneath from rusting. Re-galvanising is possible but requires many hours of sanding and by this time the structural integrity of the steel has already been compromised

Our Aluminium is Australian Extruded and Certified and all structural sections we use are the thickest gauge possible to ensure durability and longevity.

Which suspension system is better for my trailer?

We offer two forms of suspension for our marine builds, a torsion bar and a leaf spring system. A leaf spring system allows for load-sharing across the axles allowing for adjustment to keep all wheels touching no matter the surface. Our use of sleeker American-style springs also means that our systems have the added benefit of being lower to the ground to assist with the launching and retrieving of your boat.

Torsion axles have a lower profile and independent axles which require less maintenance and offer a dampened, smooth ride. Keeping you lower to the ground these rubber axles absorb extra shock meaning that jolting is significantly reduced.

What Brake System do you use?

All of our trailers rated over 2000kg require electric brakes and are fitted with an electric hydraulic Hyrdastar brake unit which includes a back-up battery and brake-away. These American actuators are well known and highly regarded in the industry and are some of the best and safest brake systems available.

What types of trailers do you build?

Our custom built aluminium trailers are individually made to the clients specifications and every project is subject to a personal consultation, no trailer is mass produced or imported ensuring we meet each customers specific needs. We have all kinds of aluminium trailers for sale, please find listed below some of the more popular trailers we manufacture.
