Why Aluminium?
Aluminium is lighter than steel and has a higher resistance to corrosion, meaning not only will the trailer last longer when exposed to the elements and salt water from the ocean, but it will look better.
Galvanisation also does not stop rust, it simply places a sacrificial layer of zinc over the steel which rusts first. Once this layer of zinc has gone, there is nothing protecting the steel underneath from the elements and it will now begin to rust.
Which suspension system is better for my trailer?
We offer two forms of suspension, a positorque torsion bar and a leaf spring system. A leaf spring system allows for load-sharing across the axles whereas a torsion bar axle allows for the trailer to sit lower and has a better centre of balance (something helpful if you like to beach launch). The decision is really a matter of customer preference as both systems have their pros and cons.
